Gostovic river, 18 km from Zavidovici, is the location of the most famous
camping ground of Kamenica. For years Kamenica has been favourite destination of
Zavidovici inhabitants and surrounding towns who come to enjoy the peacefulness
and beauty of its intact nature. In the past Kamenica was known for its hunting
ground “Kamenica”, one of the mot famous in BiH.
 Nature here really offers a lot: breathtaking waterfalls, limestone phenomena,
endemic plant species. They are the reason why this area streams toward being
proclaimed a natural monument. Let’s start from the longest and by many
the prettiest river of the area, Gostovic river. It is the prettiest because of
its numerous cascades. What the river is most famous for however are two
waterfalls, each several meters high and two kilometres apart. Gostovic river is
rich with fish species, especially two species of the trout – river and
Californian. Besides Gostović, there other smaller rivers and streams such as
Suha, Stara Kamenica etc…
 The area of
Kamenica is an ideal ground for funs of speleology as there are several
unexplored or undiscovered caves around, with the cave Atom being the most
important one. Excavations done in one of the caves uncovered 1500-year old
fossilized remains of the cave bear. All caves contain numerous stalactites and
stalagmites, thousands of years old. A wider area of Kamenica provides access to
a number of places attractive to alpinists and mountaineers who can enjoy
climbing Tajan and Mašićka stijena (Mašica rock). Breathtaking is the beauty of
canyons of Mašica, Duboka Tajašnica, Suha and several other rivers. Here is
where botanists discovered a rare plant species called Bosnbian lily (Lilium
bosniacum).
Quietness and
natural beauties of Kamenica have made many people build weekend-houses
providing a comfortable accommodation. Weekenders and tourists have at disposal
IP Krivaja’s restaurant offering a large selection of meals and drinks, fresh
river trout being the most valued selection. The trout can also be obtained at
Kamenica fish pond.
 Other resources worth mentioning include sport-recreational
centre “Luke”, with basketball, soccer and volleyball fields. Kamenica provides
a bit of something for everyone. Hunters can come for trophy hunting as there
are numerous species of wild boars, deer, wolves and bears. There are also
several hunters’ lodges and ambush spots as well as feeding grounds for wild
animals.
