NOVI TRAVNIK

Novi Travnik used to be known as “the town of youth”. Planned as the town of the working class and a metal industry centre, it was built after the World War II.

Metal industry, especially the specialized one, was well developed, 1990s’ war it is now faced with great difficulties. However, Novi Travnik has set on its own course now, characterized by private enterprise and focus on trade and services and, to a lesser degree, on development of metal industry production facilities and production of footwear.

In Rankovići near Novi Travnik there used to be until recently the oldest oak tree in this part of Europe. It was over 1000 years old.
