KREŠEVO
Kreševo is located idyllically in the valley beneath Inač Mountain. Kreševo
Municipality spreads over an area of 150 km2. The centre of this small Central
BiH town provides a lively image of traditional Bosnian architecture. Kreševo
has long been known as a mining and artistic crafts centre.

Mining dates back to the age of the Roman Empire. Following the Romans, came
the Saxons, a Germanic tribe, which passed to local people the knowledge of
melting and processing metal and mining. In addition to metal processing
industry there are also traditional craftsmen which are said to be able “to
shoe” an egg. To the present Kreševo has managed to retain an architectural look
of an autochthon Central BiH town. |
